| ARK Consultants utilises a system called Carrier Pre-Select (CPS) to route your outgoing calls over an alternative network to BT. This allows your company access to our competitive call rates and the full range of our services with no compromise or reduction in services.
CPS basically works by the local BT Exchange being reprogrammed to automatically recognise that calls from your telephone lines need to be routed via a specific supplier.
Carrier Pre-Select (CPS) in simple terms is an option which allows you to keep your existing lines and telephone numbers but pay the cheaper call charges to another company.

If at any time you wish to override the Carrier Pre Select service you can do this by applying a prefix which overrides programming at the Local Exchange.
This allows you the freedom to route different calls through alternative suppliers. Say for example if you wish to route calls back onto BT you just prefix your call with 1280
